Facilities, Tournaments, and Championships

Thinking about bringing a sports tournament to Laramie? Our community would love to host your event, and we offer a wide variety of facilities. Laramie has everything from softball fields and swimming tournaments to Cowboy Turf Wars and the Wyoming High School State Football Championships each fall. Laramie also has multiple rodeo arenas and great outdoor recreation from rock climbing, skiing, fishing, and trail running.

  • Unique Attractions: 
    • Snowy Range Scenic Byway.  This scenic route takes you through the majestic Snowy Range Mountains, past deep glacial lakes, pastoral meadows, rushing mountain streams, and awe-inspiring quartzite peaks. The Scenic Byway has numerous places to stop or pull off for visitors to take in the serenity of the Snowy Range. Open May - October, the Scenic Byway provides access to plentiful atving, hiking, and fishing opportunities in the summer. While the Scenic Byway is closed for winter, the slopes open for skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Designated a Scenic Byway in 1988, it was the second one established in the United States.

    • The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site is an old 1800s outlaw history museum that is one of the oldest buildings in Wyoming. In the 1900s, the University of Wyoming used it as an agricultural experiment station before it later reopened as a State Historic Site. One of it's biggest claim to fames is that it is the only prison to have ever held the notorious Butch Cassidy. Come tour the many restored historic buildings, exhibits, a picnic area, and a nature trail!
