With partial funding by the Wyoming Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Bond’s Brewing Company, Relative Theatrics presents a revival of THE SANTALAND DIARIES by David Sedaris, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, from December 4-7, 2019 at 7:30pm on site in downtown Laramie at Bond’s Brewing Company. The production is directed by Anne Mason and features local actor Ryan Archibald. THE SANTALAND DIARIES is back by popular demand and is the holiday special in Season 7: Capturing Humanity
Nationally acclaimed humorist David Sedaris’ story based on his own experiences, THE SANTALAND DIARIES tells the tale of an out-of-work actor who finds a holiday job as an elf at Macy’s in New York City. “This delightfully tart tale takes a wry look at how the holiday season brings out the best – and the worst – in us all.” (American Shakespeare Center) “A sardonic, merrily subversive tale—just the antidote to bright-eyed joy before too many shopping days have passed. Worth more than a photo album full of Santas!” (NY Newsday) “A delightfully thorny account of working as a Yuletide elf at Macy’s. Priceless observations, both outrageous and subtle. Destined to hold a place in the annals of American humor writing.” (NY Times).
The play contains adult themes and language.
Tickets: Free Admission! Admission is limited to 40 seats per show. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
Relative Theatrics strives to present thought-provoking theatre that examines the joining qualities of the human race. We believe that theatre is a forum with the power to illuminate the binding qualities of humanity and reinforce the ideals that as a society we have values that pose as common ground and emotions that relate us to one another. Taking artistic risk, we provide a community gathering place where thoughts can be exchanged about society, culture, and the power of creativity.
