This play is based on the life of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a transgender woman (the play uses the historically accurate term transvestite) living under Nazi occupation and her escape from the fascist regime. The performances will be followed by talk-back sessions led by William Missouri Downs. Downs is a professor, playwright, director, and author. Together, he and the audience will discuss LGBTQ issues (with a focus on transgender roles) in Wyoming, which is ranked as the third most dangerous state for the LGBTQ community.
