We’re back! Come to the Art Museum to make art with your children during our Family Saturday Workshop on Saturday, February 1.
During this FREE workshop families will begin by viewing the new exhibition, “Material Slip,” followed by participating in a hands-on art making experience supported by knowledgeable art instructors from the UW Art Museum and students from the UW Art Department.
This workshop is a great way to develop creativity and imagination, and learn an artistic process with your children, no matter their age.
Family Saturday Workshops are led by the Art Museum’s trained teaching artists with support from the UW Art Department students and faculty who aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment in which families can explore artistic materials and concepts inspired by museum exhibitions.
Each session of Family Saturday Workshops begins with a brief gallery tour to explore museum exhibitions. After the tour, participants work with a variety of art materials in the museum’s expansive studio classroom and maker-space. These workshops are great for families to explore new art materials and approaches to making art, as wells as concepts of identity, community, and belonging.
FREE for families and individuals of all ages.
