December's Night Sky @ Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium

Come and let us guide you through the night sky of the month of December. In the East the story of the Hero Perseus holds strong in the sky giving a fun little trip into the adventures of the Greek heroes. In the West, some of the brightest stars and most recognizable constellations are coming into view. Come check all that out and more!

At this time of year, we experience the changing of the seasons – accompanied by chillier temperatures and crisp night sky viewing.  This month, the annual parade of winter constellations begins to take center stage, delighting viewers with the bright gems of Orion, Taurus, Auriga, Gemini, Canis Major, and Canis Minor, among others.

This December, we’ll feature a variety of evening public shows, a couple weekend programs for families, and a pair of special guest presenters!  Tickets are $5 for non-students, $3 for students, and free for children 5 and under.  Please visit our planetarium home page to purchase tickets, or you may pay cash at the door provided there are seats available.
